If you need to improve your dental health, one of the best things to do is to practice proper dental hygiene. While we are able to provide excellent dental treatments at our office, it is always better to prevent the issues from developing in the first place.
Dr. Glenn M. Wilson and our team recommend taking the following steps to take care of your teeth:
- Make sure to brush your teeth every day. We recommend brushing at least twice every day, especially before turning in for bed. If possible, take the time to brush after meals as well.
- Make sure to floss at least once per day, especially right before bed. This helps keep plaque from forming in-between teeth.
- Take care of your diet, eating healthy foods and limiting your sugar intake. (Both sugar and acidic foods can cause damage to tooth’s enamel.)
- Take time to schedule regular appointments, cleanings and exams with our dentist. Cleanings and exams should be planned every six months, though our dentist may recommend additional appointments if necessary.
